I was one of the better high-school prospects in the country. I got to TCU expecting the path to keep moving upward.

It didn’t. I barely played and eventually got cut.

I went to Central Arizona, rebuilt, and earned my way back to Division I. A .342 / .450 / .637 season, 11 home runs, and First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors were part of that rebuild.

Getting back to Division I at LMU didn’t make baseball linear. I hit for power, but I also struck out too much, became passive, chased when behind, and learned firsthand how overthinking can get in the way of competing.

At Ridgefield in 2026, I hit .322 / .463 / .529 with 7 home runs and 23 stolen bases. Another step forward, with more to learn.

Talent matters. So do the right diagnosis, fewer distractions, and enough consistency to let the work work.

Identify the real constraint. Simplify the problem. Train it hard. Compete. Adjust.

TCU graded me as a red runner. I had to learn how to train speed with purpose—and how to use it in games.

Later came 34 stolen bases in the 2024 Northwoods League, then 23 and a Ridgefield franchise single-season record in 2026.

Those are my playing results, not a promise for yours. The lesson is to train the quality you want, not just chase fatigue.
